After such a long break, it’s hard to know where to begin so I’ll start where I left off. Our November 1st quarterly reveal challenge for the Endeavourers Group was Boustrophedon. I struggled with deciding what to make and eventually came up with this. My fellow endeavourers, as always, made wonderful quilts, which you can see here.
Also, around the beginning of November I finished a toddler cardigan, which really should have been a Wool on Sundays post.
Then my Dad went to hospital. He expected to go home the same night but they kept him in to do some tests whilst they gave antibiotics for a suspected chest infection. Very sadly and entirely unexpectedly he turned out to have a very aggressive ‘High-Grade B-Cell Lymphoma’ and passed away two weeks later before the diagnosis was confirmed. He really was the most encouraging and inspirational person I have ever known and, when some time time has passed perhaps I will make a post about him…
After that, the year continued to spiral downwards. My youngest son’s partner lost two grandparents, my younger daughter’s partner’s grandad died, everyone was ill…
We had a subdued Christmas and New Year and, off and on, I worked on a second cardigan for my first Granddaughter, which I finally finished a week or so ago.
Now, I have organised the Makery (which was temporarily being a spare bedroom) and I am, somewhat belatedly, about ready to embark on 2023 and looking forward to catching up with blogland and my fellow makers.

Good to see your post, Janine, but I’m so very sorry about all the sadness and struggles for your family as 2022 came to a close. I hope 2023 is full of healing and hope. I think your challenge quilt is perfect (who came up with that theme, anyway? – haha). The two cardigans are lovely, such intricate stitches! Warm wishes from snowy Minnesota!

Oh Janine, I am so very sorry to read of your dad’s passing. He sounds like he was the most wonderful and supportive man. Goodness, what a tragic time you and your extended family have had over the last couple of months . May your 2023 be a kinder for you all. As ever your knitted woollies are lovely. Pretty colours and patterns. I see from the last photo you could do with a little warmth there

Beautiful photos Janine. I understand it was -10 here last night, a bit better today I think, it’s 2° at the moment although that’s the highest temperature today!
It is tough to come back to blogging I know! I’m trying too – after I had Ovarian cancer at the start of 2021 and have been healing/getting over it since, and now my mum is in hospital. She’s 90 and we’ve been told her heart is weak and she has water on the lungs – but it’s particularly difficult because she is totally blind and doesn’t like to talk about what is ailing her.
My sister is spending most of every day at the hospital looking after mum, who keeps asking when she (mum that is) is going home.
Oops, sorry, that might be too much information! 😂🤣😂🤣
Here’s hoping for a better 2023 for everyone!
