January Furtle

Today I’m linking up with Archie the Wonder Dog with a round up of my crafting during January.

Furtle (v): to have a rummage or delve into the contents of something

I finished a cardigan for one of my granddaughters…

I made an Art Quilt for The Endeavourers quarterly challenge and posted about it here with step-by-step details incase anyone should want to alter an image with fun colours.

POP ART – or The Poppy Diptych

And I did some work on THE LITTLE BLUE SHOP.

This project has been going on for a long time.

The shop was basically finished in this post and the pumpkin was basically finished in this post, both in 2020.

Unfortunately, they have been languishing gathering dust so I have done some repainting and put on a coat of mat varnish to try to make them easier to clean in the future. I also plan to keep a cloth over it to try to avoid having to clean it in the future!

They are somewhat put together now but I still need to make some adjustments and find a way of taking photos without shadows and try to make a background…

I hope this will be a proper ta-da project this year but there is still quite a lot to be done so this is just a progress photo.

This month, the most urgent thing I have to make is a christening cake. I thought I was offering to do a christmas cake with more of a baby theme but then found out it will be for 70-80 people so I’m feeling quite daunted about that.

I should also try to make two commissioned wedding gifts. They are not needed until the end of April but from the beginning of March I will be doing three days a week child care as well as my usual job and we are getting towards gardening time so I will have to try to be spectacularly organised…

I’ve also started a new baby jumper for my little grandson and have grand plans for Map quilt for the next Endeavourers challenge.

We will have to see how much I can get done.

First I’m going to visit the other furtling blogs :)

I enjoy seeing your little miniature shop and pumpkin with all the added little items! Your jumper is lovely, too; I particularly like the color. You have quite a few projects coming up! I like that word – furtle – it makes me smile.

I love the shop and balloon and will hop over and read their posts as soon as I’ve finished typing. The cardi is gorgeous and such a good colour, I bet it goes with loads of things and that she looks lovely in it. Good luck with the cake baking and decorating *gulps* and the spectacular organising of your time and projects – are they double quilts you’re making? Two of them? For April? Definitely some spectacular organisation required! Thanks for Furtling!

    Hello, hello,
Been awhile huh. I absolutely love the little blue shop. Are you entering in it some type of competition?
You should if not. I’m going to have to back up on that and see what the story on that is.
    What is furtle?
