Happy December and welcome to the final Wool on Sundays of 2017 :)
I’m sorry if anyone came by expecting the November Wool on Sundays. I, too, expected that but for a great many reasons my blog and I (in fact my computer and I) have been much separated this past month and I have been lost to the virtual world :(
Thankfully, in the actual world, there is always knitting that can be fitted in – a few rows here and there – at any time of day or night and in all manner places so, belatedly, I’m giving the stats that I promised in Apples and an Autumnal Cardigan.
The Wool is Drops Karisma in Olive, knitted on 4mm needles. For everything except the yoke, I used a lace pattern from a Burda book of knitting stitches and for the yoke I used a Garn Studio pattern, which I first used for the Yellow Cardigan. I adapted the yoke pattern to the number of stitches I had as Karisma is roughly equivalent to DK whilst the pattern is for Aran weight yarn. If you wanted to make something similar, the simplest thing would be to use Aran weight wool with the Garn Studio pattern and work the lace pattern over the number of stitches it specifies for the body and sleeves. The sleeves in the original pattern are 3/4 length but can easily be lengthened.
The cardigan has been gifted to my daughter and one day, perhaps, I will edit to show a modelled photo!
With the left over wool, I decided to make myself a 1/2 pi shawl (as the other shawls I’ve made have all been gifted too!) and a quick hat. Here is a sneek peek in black and white because it is night time and the colours are questionable.
Knitting aside, we are still in the process of re-organising the furniture and, quite largely, redecorating the house after the floor sanding. Poppy has been relocated next to a radiator (beside some drawers that used to be upstairs and are in place of a bookcase that is on another wall, which itself is in place of a bookcase that is still outside).
And Fiona has relocated herself…
I hope that I will be located back to my Makery and blogland more in the coming days and weeks than I’ve been of late…
If you have any wool/yarn posts to share, I’d love you to link up. The rules, as usual, are: 1). Posts must include some content – makes or musings or photos – related to knitting, crochet, felting, spinning or yarn. 2). Projects sewn from felt or wool fabric or stitchery using wool are also welcome but please don’t link posts that are exclusively about sewing, quilting and fabrics. 3). Posts don’t have to be from the past week but please put a link to WOOL ON SUNDAYS or grab the button from my sidebar and include it in or at the bottom of any posts you link up. 4). MOST IMPORTANT visit anyone else who links. The next Wool on Sundays will be on Sunday 7th January.
