Welcome to Making Christmas, 2013!
To join the party, all you need to do is make a list things you want to get done before Christmas. You can include things that are specifically Christmassy, such as gifts and Christmas decorations, but you can also add in your intended Halloween and Thanksgiving makes and any other handmade projects you want to get finished by December 25th at the very latest!
Our MAKING CHRISTMAS BLOG HOP HOSTS will be posting each week with either a Brainstorming Holiday Themed Post or a Tute for GIFTS, HOME DEC or CHRISTMAS ORNAMENTS and every week you can link up with your updated list and your makes from the past week.
October 19th – REBECCA Making Rebecca Lynne
October 26th – KRISTY Quiet Play
November 2nd – M-R Quilt Matters
November 9th – SOMA Whims and Fancies
November 16th – FIONA Celtic Thistle Stitches
November 23rd – NAT Made in Home
November 30th – ERIN Missy Mac Creations
December 7th – LUCY Charm About You
December 14th – SUSAN The Bored Zombie
December 21st – To be confirmed
January 11th 2014 – A winner will be randomly selected from the link ups for a small prize,
donated by me or maybe a better prize if I can find a sponsor!
Edited to add: KRISTY from Quiet Play and ALYCE from Blossom Heart Quilts have kindly offered a copy of their wonderful Christmas patterns – Sew Seasonal/Ornamental.
Your list needn’t be set in stone – you can tick off your makes and add new ones as we go. The main thing is to encourage each other and to have fun! I’m going to start a MAKING CHRISTMAS, 2013 pinterest board to pin everyone’s makes and any tutes you want to link up so if you would prefer not to be pinned, please say so in your post. I’m also hoping to feature some makes from the past week in my post every Saturday so please also mention if you’d rather not be featured :)
Without further ado, here is my list:
THINGS I WANT TO MAKE BEFORE CHRISTMAS
Crow ornaments for Halloween
Finish felt bird and heart decorations
Rainbow Hare Rolls
Pouches
Cushion Covers
Something to be decided with my son’s logo on
Knitted Scarf
Knitted Shawlette
1. Grab the button from my sidebar (optional!)
2. Make a list

Winnowing my list down from the fiercely ambitious one I had in my head from last Christmas:)
Great idea for a Blog Hop Janine

brilliant idea. Can I link up from Flickr? I will write my list and take a photo of it and put it on flickr? I need this sort of accountability to get anything made in time for Christmas!

I read about this on my friend Vera (Negligent Style)'s blog – great idea! I'm not going to blog about it because my family – aka recipients – read my blog, but I'll be following along and seeing what everyone else is up to :) My big goal was to make 6 toddler quilts for Christmas gifts (for the g-nephews and g-niece) – I finished #5 today so I'm on track so far :D

My worklist for Christmas – finish two raggy quilts in autumn colours for two of my sons, do the top for All Around Town with a Newfoundland theme and get started on a seaside Cathedral Windows project. And now…because MR posted that darn card holder – I'm making a card holder.
