Thanks to a great tute by Michelle at The Vintage Apple, I’ve embedded a pin – yay!
And who wouldn’t want to be a Unicorn?
Since finishing my Unicorn Days quilt I seem to have been noticing unicorns everywhere. We have them on some of our £1 coins and our passports…

And you can hardly walk down the street without seeing them!
I met this one last week on the Isle of Wight.
He lives on top of the entrance of a Victorian Arcade with his companion the Lion…and therein lies the problem.
The whole Coat of Arms business is quite complicated (see here and here if you have time on your hands) but the long and short of it is that, whilst my lucky blog friends Nicky and Fiona get to be unicorns, I have to be a lion :(
In case you are wondering about inside the Arcade, here are some pictures.

The shops sold a mix of both genuine and reproduced vintage collectables and bric-a-brac but I thought the more interesting finds were at the pub where we stopped for lunch.

I’m linking with Cindy for Really Random Thursday and going, now, to see what randomness everyone else is sharing this week :)

Lovely photos! Yes, isn't the centrepiece of that ceiling amazing. What a fantastic quilt that would be!

I enjoyed your random! Those old games are so great, there's a little museum of them on the pier in New Brighton and we all love it!

I love unicorns too, but it's not so bad being a lion. I mean they are the king of beasts, overgrown housecats, and top of the food chain in any area they happen to be in. That is cool, and I'm not lion.

Absolutely love your pics! But the question is….are you a cowardly lion, or the queen of the jungle? Why are lion families called 'prides'?

I'm with you on the unicorns! When I was in Barcelona, I noticed that one of the gargoyles on the back of the cathedral was a unicorn and became momentarily obsessed with getting a good picture of it even though it was above my head. Everyone else took no notice and I'm thinking…maybe they can't “see” the unicorn horn (like in a favorite childhood movie, The Last Unicorn) but I can because I truly believe. ;)
