Welcome to Rainbow Hare!

Today I have a 3 in 1 post including the Endeavourers February quarterly reveal and rounds 1 and 2 of the 2026 SAHRR.
1. For the Endeavourers quarterly art quilt challenge, this time our theme was ‘Motion’.
For a challenge a while ago (Choose Joy) I made a running dog, which my daughter-in-law kindly set to music for me and I thought it would be nice to do something similar…
What with one thing and another, I didn’t find time for complicated automata but I did make a bird who, with help, can flap her wings.

I used Carrie Bloomston Collage fabric and, having planned a lot more artiness and embellishment, I eventually decided she had enough colour and pattern without adding anything else.

I hope you will visit the Endeavourers blog and see what other members made this time.
2. Last week was round 1 of the SAHRR. I didn’t manage to finish in time to link up but Brenda @ Songbird Designs chose hourglasses or 1/4 triangle blocks. To get the squares in the corners, I had to cut some hourglasses in half.
3. This week is round 2 and Kathleen @ Kathleen McMusing chose the prompt “Make It A Double”. For this, I’ve made squares in squares for the corners and stripes in stripes for the borders.

I’m a bit concerned that the centre is overpowering but, once I have trimmed the teal outer border, this will only be 21″ square so I hope to blend it all together at a later stage…
Now I’m off to link up and see everyone else’s doubles and, perhaps for the first time in the history of Rainbow Hare, I am up-to-date :)
Happy Sewing!
Janine @ Rainbow Hare
(If you subscribe to my blog by email, firstly, thank you :) Secondly, I really recommend you view the web version because otherwise you end up with a random scramble of photos and I don’t know how to stop that happening).

Janine your bird is so fun. I am on my way over to Endeavourers to see what’s going on.

I have a very big smile on my face right now, not only for your amazing bird and that precious dog, but also for your last comment. I will always love looking at your creations, timely or not. I really do like how the SAHRR is shaping up, too, with those fresh and spring-like colors and prints. Your quilt has a delicious crispness to it: so appealing. And congrats on all creations!

You have plenty of time to blend in the colors from the center as the SAHRR progresses; it’s looking great to me!

Janine, my first idea was spring and petticot in the 60! The dotts and the colors rock!!! Rockn roll … this is a power SAHRR quilt you are creating. Love it. No, your red in the middle will be good!!!! Doesnt they all take the red in the middle… the fireplace of a house when you sew log cabin!
I am jelous about your foto spot place! We have grey and grey and grey, so fotoshooting is complicated. Cudos! Eva :-))
