The theme for next Endeavourers reveal (on November 1st) is Sashiko and, having bought a selection of cheap stencils, when it looked like a sewing sort of day…

…I thought I’d try out some on the never ending SAHRR.

It’s not really sashiko – more hand quilting in (what I believe to be) a sashiko pattern – but I quite like the effect. I still have another three flowers to do but the evenings are beginning to draw in now so I hope I can start making some more progress with it.
I’m starting to think that, if I can manage to get this quilted by the end of the year, maybe I will use it as the centre of my SAHRR next year!

Now, however, the sun is shining again and the garden is a relentless taskmaster!

Wishing you much sun and sewing!

(If you subscribe to my blog by email, firstly, thank you :) Secondly, I really recommend you view the web version because otherwise you end up with a random scramble of photos and I don’t know how to stop that happening).

I have never seen anyone using sashiko this way. This is brilliant, Janine! Your stitching is so beautiful and flowers look lovely on your quilt.

Those bits of Sashiko absolutely complement your SAHRR. I love the idea of it being your center for next year’s SAHRR!
