Twirling Asterisk!

I’ve been very tempted to join in with Spring Fever…

Scrap Attack {String Fever}
But I’d thought I’d better give it a miss because for one thing I don’t have many stringy, or potentially stringy, scraps and for another thing I resolved to sew nothing but bee blocks until I get myself up-to-date (not to mention my that trip-a-long is still only half quilted!)
But today it’s my birthday so I thought I’d give myself a couple of hours me-time sewing and, with a surprisingly small amount of neutrals and three Simply Color ombre solid jelly roll strips,
I whipped up this 19″ block, which I’m calling a twirling asterisk!
I had a cushion in mind but perhaps I’ll add some hanging corners to give it the option of being a mini wall hanging…
I foundation pieced this on fabric, which was a first for me, and you can probably see how it was done but if anyone wants a tute just let me know.
Have you been stripping along with Spring Fever?

    This block came out great! I have so been wanting to join in, but I used all my strings on a spider web quilt so I am scrapless.

    Happy Birthday! love your twirling asterisk block! I was stringing along with String Fever, until I hurt my right hand and had to stop making blocks for a couple weeks. I'm not sure if have time to finish up my ugly quilt for the deadline, but I'm happy to be back to work on it.
