Christmas on a shoestring!

This year has been particularly economically challenging for us so all my WIP this week relates to making Christmas on a shoestring!

Luckily, we sewists are blessed with a stash of beautiful scraps but it’s not always easy to think what to make for our non-sewing friends and relations, who probably won’t love love a needlecase or pincushion nearly as much as we would. So I decided to make a collection of jewellry rolls…

Here are my finishes so far.
This is my favourite.
Inside there are three zipped pockets – two are approx 9″ x 9″ and one is approx 9″ x 18″ so these could could equally be used for makeup, pens, notebooks etc…

These two use up scraps to the bitter end!

And these still in progress!

I also have this finish, which didn’t use scraps.

And some decorations made by re-purposing and old book…

This one is never-to-be-repeated! I followed a tute and got horribly confused and ended up with this. It is my favourite but I have no idea how I did it!
Then I found a proper origami site and made some more stars following these really clear directions.
Finally, I sewed some birds..

And Hearts.

And made some reusable fabric wrapping

Here is a tute for the fabric bags and paper hearts
