Chequerboard goes to the Quilt Festival

Amy's Creative Side

As I’m sure you know it’s the Bloggers’ Quilt Festival over at Amy’s Creative Side. It’s wonderful to see the huge variety of quilts that have been entered and the talent in quilt-blogland is sooooo inspiring!

This is my offering.
I made it last Autumn. It was my was my first ‘real’ quilt and, although the design is very simple, it measure almost 90″ square and I quilted it with parallel straight lines (roughly) 1″ apart – which was a rather steep learning curve for a complete newbie with a Janome Sewist!
I’ve chosen this quilt because it was really the beginning of my quilting adventure. It was the quilt that persuaded me I love quilting and that with enthusiasm and practice anything is possible.

Oh this is such a nice quilt. As much as I love bold colours and lots of wonky shapes I also love simple, no-nonsense and yet impressive quilts:-)
