So, here we are, half way through the year already.
Only six months until Christmas and the sun is back on its southward path.

My SAHRR quilt, which should have been finished in March is not half way through but I have made a little progress. I’ve appliqued some more birds and leaves and done some hand quilting and it’s starting to look like it’s coming together…

Now, though, I must turn my attention back to the next Endeavourers quilt. The theme this quarter is ‘Effervescent’ and I made a start a while ago but I put it away when everyone was visiting for the party and, today, I have searched high and low and I have no clue where I put it. That is the trouble with tidying up a sewing room!
Project garden has been more successful. After two periods of back problems, which prevented me from doing anything outside, I’ve been trying to do whatever I can whenever I can and and it’s nice to be rewarded with world full of colour. I hope the vegetables will soon follow despite it being hotter than Jamaica here (according to our weather forecasters) which isn’t ideal.

As I’m having a rare home alone day and it’s too hot to make progress with weeding, I will catch up with blogland and maybe make a new start on the Effervescent quilt.

I hope you are have lovely weather, wherever you are :)

(If you subscribe to my blog by email, firstly, thank you :) Secondly, I really recommend you view the web version because otherwise you end up with a random scramble of photos and I don’t know how to stop that happening).

I suspect you will find your first start on the challenge quilt as soon as you are into your second, at least that’s how it works here. Ha! You have some lovely garden photos, and I enjoyed seeing the progress on the SAHRR. Good to hear you are feeling better, too!

Quilting is in my Blood
Those appliquéd birds and leaves on your SAHRR quilt are wonderful! I tend to rush through my projects, and I really appreciate the time, effort, and thought that you put into yours. Hope your temps cool down soon!

Oh, how I love seeing your gardens! We are heading into triple digit temps here (about 40 C) and I’m afraid the plants I just bought will burn up before they can grow. Usually I plant early, then by July they are all cooked, so I’m trying it differently this go-round: plant in the heat and hopefully by fall we’ll have some tomatoes. Our hot stays all the way into the end of September so we’re okay.
I am enjoying watching the progress on your SAHRR quilt, and love all the appliqué; we’re all here for the long-term, so take your time!

It appears that my recent comments on wordpress sites did not post. It was great visiting your site again, Janine. Everything looks so colourful and your applique is amazing as usual. I am sure the Endeavour quilt will show up well after you start on the new one.
