Today is the first day of this year’s SAHRR, hosted by Quilting Gail, and it’s time to link up our centre blocks.

I really enjoyed joining in last year and I love the quilt I unexpectedly ended up with but this year I’m thinking I’ll aim more for a wall quilt size. I took inspiration from a Christmas card and stitched a hare onto an orphan hst block but when I added it to a piece of linen it looked really drab so I switched it out for a sunny yellow and added some petals/leaves.

It’s icy cold here just now so I’m happier to be working on something more cheerful! If I trim the block into a square, it will be 12″ but I’m waiting to see next week’s prompt before I cut it as I might keep with the circle for bit…

I’m really looking forward to seeing everyone else’s centre blocks and following the quilts as they grow :)

Here is the SAHRR schedule:
- January 13: Visit each of the co-hosts to see their centre block.
- January 20: 1st Round: Kathleen @ Kathleen McMusing
- January 27: 2nd Round: Anja @ Anja Quilts
- February 3: 3rd Round: ME!!! @ Quilting Gail

Janine @ Rainbow Hare
(If you subscribe to my blog by email, firstly, thank you :) Secondly, I really recommend you view the web version because otherwise you end up with a random scramble of photos and I don’t know how to stop that happening).

What a clever idea, this SAHRR! I love your rabbit, and agree that the yellow makes it pop a bit more — good, perhaps, for a center? This will be fun to follow along!

I love the rabbit in the circle with the leaves. It’s such an unusual round robin center.

Moving the bunny to the brighter fabric and adding the leaves was a great idea. This will be a fun SAHRR projec to follow. I’m joining for the first time and just now getting around to everyone’s center block post. So much inspiration on the linky party.
