Welcome to Wool on Sundays!
We’re almost half way through the year and, outside, everything is growing very green.
Even the garden is growing, which I’m very happy about because it takes up an extraordinary amount of time with all the weeding and sowing and weeding and planting and weeding…it’s beginning to look as if we will eat for next year :D
Inside my ripple blanket is growing in many colours and I think I’m about half way through that.
It is VERY wide – I’m sure it will over hang the sides enough but haven’t actually measured because because I don’t want to be put off – but don’t think it will need to be more than about 80″ long because the foot of the bed prevents anything from hanging over at the bottom and we don’t need it going over our heads! It is quite a challenge to get even colour placement but so far I’ve managed use about half the wool in equal colours. If I let myself I could keep frogging forever so I’ve made a rule just to keep going regardless of doubts and each time I start a new row my main guide is that it hasn’t been used too recently.
I’m setting myself a deadline of August 1st to finish so I fear my Wool on Sundays posts might be a bit repetitive for the next few weeks unless I can think of any else woolly to talk about.

The green looks beautiful! Is that Fiona in your garden? Love the way the ducks are lined up in a row and the blackbird(?) is watching them. The ripple blanket looks wonderful. I can’t wait to see it finished.

Your garden is looking lovely Janine; as you say, very green! Love that photo of the ducks lined up…like Soma, I’m not sure what that other bird is…looks like a teacher! Lol. The rug is looking wonderful…those long, long rows 🙄

Your blanket is lovely, do like the ripple effect. I’m using the same approach to colour with my Sophie’s Garden cushion (and playing yarn chicken because it uses my scrap wool and the rounds are getting huge!)

Thank you. I’m sure it will be worth it when it’s snowing/freezing outside but I hope it’s going to look nice too. It’s actually starting to be a bit onerous but I’m determined to get to the end!

Oh my – for a second there, when I looked at the second picture (on the left), I thought there was a jaguar in your garden, lol! Even jags need their 5 a day of veggies! ;) Janine’s Blanket of Many Colours is coming along nicely, and the colours are working well together – are you keeping up with 2 rows a day? I saw that on a previous post!

So happy you have enough food in that amazing garden of yours to feed you for a year. We can’t have you expiring before your gorgeous ripple blanket is finished. It is looking rather wonderful. Happy gardening!
