Hello and welcome to my brand new blog.
Recently, I stumbled upon the world of quilting blogs.
I’ve been so inspired by all the fabric talk and sewing tips and tutorials and quilt-a-longs that I’ve decided a place on the web where I can quilt and learn and blog as I go is just what I need to propel me back into sewing. In a way I think this rather putting the cart before the horse. I feel I should start a quilt and then blog about it. But the first/last/only quilt I’ve ever made was about fifteen years ago. I’m not sure that that really counts but I’m posting pictures anyway as a sign of good faith! It was upcycled from some pink dresses my daughters had grown out of, blue scraps from a bridesmaid dress and, I think, an old sheet. I didn’t bind it and it has no decorative quilting because I was paranoid about ruining it.The wadding is an old blanket and it’s stitched in the ditch. The main thing I can say is that it has been camping and in a tree house and through three house moves and countless sleep-overs and it has been regularly machine washed and dried and it has stood the test of time.
I’m off now to join the Farmer’s Wife Quilt-a-long so I hope to post something more up-to-date soon. In the meantime I’ve learnt my first quilt blog lesson ~
