Wool on Sundays – 121 (ends)

IMG_0632

Welcome to Wool on Sundays – sorry I know it’s really Monday this week – and thank you to everyone who visited last week :)

rainbowhare The blocks for the rustic lace are finished but, unfortunately, before I get the the end there are the ends.

I was happily avoiding them by working a border until I ran out the blue green mix wool.

And then I made a start on sewing them in but, even though I crochet over them as I go wherever possible, there are so many! And I never seem to get to any yarn work these days until late at night when we are very tired…

And there is always such a temptation to start something new…

Next week there will be no Wool on Sundays. Hopefully, I will get to the end of the rustic lace by the week after.

Have you been making anything with wool or yarn this week? Ends, beginnings or middles are equally welcome!

If so, I’d love you to link up. The rules, as usual, are: 1). Posts must include some content – makes or musings or photos – related to knitting, crochet, felting, spinning or yarn. 2). Projects sewn from felt or wool fabric or stitchery using wool are also welcome but please don’t link posts that are exclusively about sewing, quilting and fabrics. 3). Posts don’t have to be from the past week but please put a link to WOOL ON SUNDAYS or grab the button from my sidebar and include it in or at the bottom of any posts you link up. 4). MOST IMPORTANT visit anyone else who links.

Welcome to Wool on Sundays and thank you to everyone who visited last week :)

rainbowhareI have been joining the rustic lace blocks, this week. I still have three more blocks to make and join in and I haven’t decided about what to do for a border yet but it’s slowly coming together.

And I had a surprise finish (Blogged in Dog Days) of a wool felt sausage dog with a knitted woollen scarf!

Wool on Sundays – 116 (a portable project…)

IMG_0492 (1)Welcome to Wool on Sundays!rainbowhare
I’m sorry I didn’t manage to put up a Wool on Sundays post last week. We went away for my daughter’s graduation (you can see some photos in my (Summer in Colour post) and I somehow managed to delete my post.

Of course, I needed a portable project! After some hurried googling and pinteresting I decided on some ‘Rustic Lace’ blocks. My main inspiration was the picture you can see here but if you search for ‘Rustic Lace Crochet’ you will find a huge variety of these blocks and lots of patterns and charts. It seems no one knows who first created the block but I can understand why it’s so popular. I’m using up scraps from my last ‘portable project’ – the no longer very portable Ripple Blanket.

And, lest you should think I’m starting something new without finishing that (we won’t mention some other WIPs!), here are a couple of photos of the finished Ripple!

I finished it before we went away but it was so dark and rainy I couldn’t take any photos that didn’t look really grim. Tomorrow, we are are going away again for four days and I have much to do so I I’ll aim for a proper Tada post next week :)
