Well, some years Summer seems to drift on towards November but, this year, it is really and truly over already.

The circuses and agricultural shows and steam fairs are finished for the year. The wonderful Haus Projekt Large Play Tent Theatre, which I found for a snip on ebay and which has provided a whole holiday’s-worth of entertainment, is put away and the swallows are gone.

All over blogland, Autumn crafts and halloween makes are springing up but I’m so, so slow in my making this year I’m starting to think about Christmas!
I had quite a lot of red and white half square triangles – off cuts from my sliced squares back in February – so I’ve stitched them up into a mat to go under my dish drainer. Not the most interesting of makes but I think it’s a little festive and I’m glad to be feeling ahead of the game, at least momentarily.

Now I must turn my thoughts to November’s Endeavourers reveal and start on two new Christmas Stockings…

Wishing you a colourful October :)

(If you subscribe to my blog by email, firstly, thank you :) Secondly, I really recommend you view the web version because otherwise you end up with a random scramble of photos and I don’t know how to stop that happening).

That is a cheerful little finish to the end of the summer fun! Look forward to seeing your challenge piece!

I love how the seasons speak to you, and that you set your “sewing clock” by them. We are seemingly in a never-ending fall, Southern-California-style, and I love it. Highs are in the low 80s (about 27C), and lows in the high 50s (around 15C), so I wonder if our fall is your summer? I love your little red/white/aqua mat – a perfect use for the leftovers. Happy Fall!

I like your red and white HST quilt, Janine. We’re still having some summer, though it is a little cooler right now and the humidity is down some, which is a blessing indeed! Happy Fall!

Simple projects can be so satisfying. I love that you used off cuts from your 2025 SAHRR project.

I have not done anything autumn related this year either. I am hoping to work on a painting today, but that’s about it. A very lovely mat for your dish drainer and a very wonderful way to use up the HSTs. Love the idea.
