Well, it’s six months since the SAHRR Parade and I have finally managed to get to the end of the beginning, which is to say it is all quilted (or at least somewhat stitched down now).
It is about 46″ x 70″ so it has been a lot of handwork but I can’t really account for the extraordinary time it has taken beyond having a great many unmakerly things to do and losing the will to keep going on with it!

Because it grew from a wall to a bed quilt, more is yet to come and I might use it as the centre for next year’s SAHRR but, for now, I’m going to set it aside.

Outside, we are nearly done with harvesting and clearing.

The last flowers are fading gracefully in the autumnal sunlight…and I’m looking forward to to the dark evenings and having time to work on on some other projects.

Happy Sewing!

(If you subscribe to my blog by email, firstly, thank you :) Secondly, I really recommend you view the web version because otherwise you end up with a random scramble of photos and I don’t know how to stop that happening).

Beautiful flowers and the quilt is amazing, Janine! I love all the little details and your stitching. However, I can see why you would want to set it aside. I look forward to seeing what you make next. Happy Autumn!

Oh my goodness, it is gorgeous! I think it’s right to just let it marinate and give yourself time.
