May

May was a month of very little making but, after all the recent health issues, we managed to get a Spring’s worth of gardening done in a few weeks and it’s all looking a bit better outside now.

I did finally join a monthly sewing group, after being on their mailing list since before covid and I had grand plans for a new art quilt but I went down a rabbit hole trying to find out how to draw people in perspective, ran out of time and ended up taking the SAHRR and not making a great deal of progress.

I’ve actually got a bit fed up of this now but, I hope, if I get the birds and leaves finished and have to start planning a new border my enthusiasm will come back..

This month, unfortunately, I’ll miss the group because my youngest grandson is having his birthday party but I have rearranged the makery to make the endless applique more convenient to work on in odd moments.

Happy Sewing!

(If you subscribe to my blog by email, firstly, thank you :) Secondly, I really recommend you view the web version because otherwise you end up with a random scramble of photos and I don’t know how to stop that happening).

Glad the health issues are behind you (enough, at least) that you were able to tend your gardens – it all looks lovely! You have plenty of time to finish up the SAHRR, so no pressure from here. It’s such a fun quilt, one of my favorites! Enjoy your grandson’s birthday party!

Your garden looks lovely, Janine. Glad you are feeling better and were able to work it. Your iris and roses are gorgeous! I really love that photo of the rose center. Did you use a telephoto lens? I love your SAHRR and look forward to seeing what you add to it…when you get to that! Have fun with your grandson at his party. They grow up WAY too quickly!

Hi Janine, I hope that the health issues are getting resolved! I love the pictures of your garden :-) Best of luck with the sewing group and the SAHRR. I haven’t finished mine either!

I loved seeing the photos of your gardens. I’ve been a lazy gardener for the last three years, and it’s showing. Hot weather is on its way here, but I did get the basil planted and the drip lines turned on before too late. I should plant some hot weather crops, but for now, I’ll just enjoy the sight of your beautiful terrain.
I love that new border of yours, and I will think of you as I’m appliquéing too many circles on square blocks. I’d much rather being doing birds and vines! Glad to you hear the health issues are in the rear view mirror.
