Today I am 413 – in dog years!
And as a birthday present to myself, I have decided I must seize the year so I have signed up for the May meeting of a local sewing club. I’ve been on the mailing list for six years, during which time I seem to have made less and less each year so, hopefully, this will get me back on track.
I was born in the year of the horse and, coincidently, I have just been sewing a horse.

The mane and tail have been giving me a deal of trouble and, having frogged an attempt at embroidery, I ventured into a a local craft shop in the hope of finding some fringing. I wasn’t able to find any fringing of suitable colour but I did come home with a length of feathers and I think this might suit him better. Sometimes you just don’t know what you need until it finds you!
And sometimes you need about four inches of trim but find you have bought a metre…

Happy Sewing!

(If you subscribe to my blog by email, firstly, thank you :) Secondly, I really recommend you view the web version because otherwise you end up with a random scramble of photos and I don’t know how to stop that happening).

Happy Birthday, Janine! Your little horse looks good, and who would’ve thought feathers would make the mane? So cool! I’ve made purchases like that before, too. Leaves room for more creativity, I guess!

Well, Happy Birthday!! I hope you have many more turns around the sun.
Congratulations on providing just the right mane for your horse — I guess that gives rise to the phrase “horsefeathers!”
