When you read this, it will likely be 2025 already but, now, there is just time to share a little Christmas (grainy and poorly lit) and the final makes of 2024.
I managed to finish the sack for the baby-grandson-who-already-has-a-stocking and a couple of decorations 2 x Santa + 2 x Mrs Claus using a brilliant pattern from https://mmmcrafts.com/…

…and I painted a dowel tree from Asda (a UK supermarket) to brighten a corner.

One of my sons described it as contemporary but, when I made a photo of the living room black and white, I thought it all looked surprisingly retro!

Elsewhere, the usual suspects hung around the house looking suitably festive.

Then I was struck down by some kind of cold that turned into such a horrific cough I had days of only being able to sleep for short spells sitting up :(
Family members rallied round but by Christmas morning the cake was still undecorated. Then, on the way back from a morning visit, I dropped into a garage for some throat lozenges and found this festive car sweet tin. My daughter marzipanned and iced the cake and we popped it on.
Serendipity!

Thank you to everyone who has visited Rainbow Hare this year and to everyone who keeps up a blog. Craft bloggers are a constant source of encouragement and inspiration to me and I really am appreciative of all my blogland friends even though I don’t always have time to visit as much as I would like.
I hope you had a lovely Christmas and I wish you a very Happy New Year!

(If you subscribe to my blog by email, firstly, thank you :) Secondly, I really recommend you view the web version because otherwise you end up with a random scramble of photos and I don’t know how to stop that happening).

I promise I went to your website and looked at everything, and now I feel like I’ve had a very good visit, and want to come again next year! I loved it all, and the knitted sack and the jolly hand-made people (carolers?) and the dowel tree were so wonderful. How fun to decorate the cake like that — very quick thinking to get the thing done, in spite of the illness and exhaustion. Sometimes these things will be the most memorable. Merry Christmas to you and yours, and very Happy New Year! Hugs, Elizabeth, from California.

I don’t decorate much for Christmas, so this trip through your decorations was very enjoyable! Everything looks so comfortable and festive, especially those Santa people. I hope you are over the awful cold you had!

Janine, your home looked beautiful in its Christmas pretties. The dowel tree looks amazing decorated with all those baubles. Love your loungeroom…..oh, I want to play with that house. Lucky grandchildren. The sacks are incredible, as are the sweet felt ornaments. I can only imagine all the little details that went into these. Fun cake, too. Hope you’re well and truly better now. I look forward to visiting your lovely blog all throughout 2025. A wonderful new year to you and yours.
