Only 29 sleeps until Christmas and, this year, I have two new baby grandchildren.
For my other three grandchildren, I knitted red and white Christmas Stockings so you can guess what I’ve been doing in the Makery lately.

This time, instead of reindeer, I decided to use a colour-work pattern I came across on pinterest with some darla horses (slightly adapted). The link led here and, although I couldn’t see the chart on this site, if you like hand knitting, I’m sure you will enjoy browsing all the knitting and conversation. If anyone knows who the owner of the chart is, I will update the link. The other patterns and general style are a combination of tradition designs and making it up as I went along!

Outside, I am pretty much ready for Winter and the world is speeding on to the year’s end in a riot of colourful unruliness.

Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate it :)
I will be catching up with some blog reading and then getting back to my knitting needles!

(If you subscribe to my blog by email, firstly, thank you :) Secondly, I really recommend you view the web version because otherwise you end up with a random scramble of photos and I don’t know how to stop that happening).

Two new grand babies; oh how wonderful for you, Janine. I would imagine there is always a woolly in the making on those knitting needles of yours now, with all the little ones. The new stockings are gorgeous. You are so very clever at fair aisle knitting. Love those horses. I must say your Autumnal world is dancing with glorious shades.

I’m so glad to have come across your wonderful & very interesting blog. I neither knit nor quilt, but I love the creativity involved. My 87 year old mother makes quilts for family and friends and she loved your blog, too.
Wishing you a happy, creative time!

Hi from Elizabeth E. (in case they don’t like my log-in). I’m totally impressed to see those stockings of yours! At one point I tried to learn to knit from the Swedish lady in the apartment next door, and I did well until they moved away. I always am in awe of knitters, and you are one! I love the Dala horse and all the patterns you dreamed up — what a wonderful heirloom of a gift! And congrats on two more grandchildren, too!!
