November 1st was this year’s final reveal day for The Endeavourers and this quarter our theme was ‘Spices’.
I struggled to think of anything to make on the theme of ‘Spices’ so, in the end, I decided to focus on the word ‘spices’, rather than spices themselves.
I made this using scraps of fused silk like the ‘Moon over Squircle’ I made for the ‘Circles and Squares’ theme last November. In that post I said: I’m quite enthused to try some more fusing silk, perhaps adding embroidery next time… Now I have and for good measure I added some beads and sequins.

I think it would be fun to make some of these stacked pictures using the letters of people’s names as gifts but who knows if I will ever round to that!

I hope you will visit The Endeavourers and see the spicy Art Quilts my fellow group members have made:)

(If you subscribe to my blog by email, firstly, thank you :) Secondly, I really recommend you view the web version because otherwise you end up with a random scramble of photos and I don’t know how to stop that happening).

What a brilliant idea, I think if there were a first price you and Wendy are both the winners! Out of the box thinking!
Great!

Hi Eva, In case you look back here. It’s nice to hear from you. You messaged me on my contact form a while ago and I tried to reply but your email address didn’t work. If you message again including a working email, I’ll message you, Janine :)

Oh, this is fun! I love your idea, and the Bremen Musicians approach to this prompt. Fun to see all the embroidery and additions to make this sparkle! (from Elizabeth E.)

Very clever, and rather beautiful! Fab outside-of-the-box thinking!

I thought of a few ideas with that theme, but they are good for painting and certainly not for art quilting. You came up with a very clever idea and it looks amazing.
