So here we are at the 6th Round of the Stay at Home Round Robin and, today, I’m linking up with Kathleen @ Kathleen McMusing. We have had four long power cuts in the last two weeks including one all day yesterday so I didn’t think I would manage to link up this week but I’m just about done, although it’s dark and wet outside so I have no washing line pictures tonight!

Kathleen’s prompt was ‘letters and numbers’ and I’m a big fan of typography but the space in the border of my quilt that seemed to cry out for letters was already surrounded by another border and was also too small to fit in anything but the shortest of quotes.
I eventually chanced upon this one by Paul Klee, an artist I hadn’t really come across before although I recognised some of his paintings. It seems we share an enthusiasm for colour and his quote seems quite at home on my quilt.

Luckily I have a box of secondhand sizzix letters so I was able to iron fusible web onto fabric, cut the letters and iron them onto the quilt.

Now, I have some applique to add, some more quilting and binding and, hopefully, I’ll get it finished for the Parade on 18th March :)

(If you subscribe to my blog by email, firstly, thank you :) Secondly, I really recommend you view the web version because otherwise you end up with a random scramble of photos and I don’t know how to stop that happening).

Awesome job, Janine! I love that saying. It’s perfect! Fusible was definitely the way to go with these! Looking forward to your finished quilt in the parade!

I have admired Klee’s work for a few years. Someday I’m going to make a quilt inspired by one of his works. The addition of the phrase on your quilt is so good! I love it!

What a fun quote to put on your quilt! And it fits the space perfectly. Meant to be.
