This week, I had a request, at less than a day’s notice, to make a sausage dog pencil case as a birthday present. I did not succeed. After getting some way with a sausage dog, I realised that making it a suitable size to comfortably fit a collection of pencils in would make it rather too large to carry about. So, rather than abandon altogether, I finished it up as a felt toy…

…and made a quick pencil case with the only dog themed fabric to hand.

And, instead of the days of inactivity forecast by the almanac writers of old I ended up with a sausage dog, a pencil case and my first Friday sewing finish in a very long time :)

Great save on the sausage dog pencil case!! Why do people that don’t sew think you can just poop out projects they want, lol

that sausage dog is adorable – you just made it up as you went along? Well done on summoning up some fabric with dogs on it, I definitely wouldn’t be able to do that. Rabbits, no problem, dogs, no chance,

You have been industrious. Kudos to you on these wonderful finishes. The sausage dog is adorable; clever you for dreaming up such an imaginative doggy. Cute pencil case. I love the sweet fabric.
