Welcome to Wool on Sundays!
I don’t know if you remember Freya’s Christmas Stocking that I made last year. I think it was probably the best achievement of my knitting career so, when I had a request to make a Stocking for a baby named Arthur, I intended to design something similar. But, with time passing so quickly lately, I decided to scale down my ambitions and knit from a pattern. I chose Nick’s Sock – a free pattern from garnstudio and I just made a couple of changes (adding the red band and hanger at the top, adding the red band for the name and changing the foot and toe decreases). I used Drops Karisma in red and off white. This time, I stitched the name after I had finished, rather than knitting it in.
A sunny day is always nice for finish photos but when the sky looks like this and winds are strengthening and you can feel the weather turning, you might decide it will likely get worse before it gets better and you might be minded to go out and do what you can before the rains come. That is what Poppy and I decided.
So we tried hanging the Stocking in a tree…
And then we did a few laps of the garden, snapping shots of this and that before it all disappears for the Winter and we are left with clear water and bare branches.
Then we came in and parcelled up the stocking up to post :)
I wish you a very happy Sunday and a happy week!
