Welcome Wool on Sundays!
I hope you had a good May. I really didn’t mean to abandon Blogland for so long but I’ve done no sewing for ages and all I’ve worked on yarnwise lately is the Granny Stripe blanket. I’ve managed to make quite a lot of progress during the evenings.
And I’m over half way now with the stripes but then, of course, there are all the ends!
And some kind of border…I hope I’ll finish it by the next Wool on Sundays :)
Mainly, I’ve accidentally become almost a full time gardener. The weather has been lovely and there is SO much to do outside at this time of year it’s easy to think, ‘I’ll just plant out such and such and then I’ll go and check out some blogs and do some sewing…’ But then wherever such and such needs to be planted needs weeding again and something else desperately needs watering and a batch of seedlings really need moving into bigger pots and so it goes on. And always rain is being forecast so think I’ll come and do something inside when it rains but then the rain misses us…
And in the evening I consider turning on my computer but I think I’ll just crochet for a while do that tomorrow. And somehow a week has gone by since I’ve even thought about blogging and then two weeks have gone by…And I’ve started to think that must be what happens to all those blogs that sail abandoned through the blogosphere. Once there was someone who loved them and who wrote posts and took photos for them and then, perhaps, they started doing something else. And perhaps, they never really meant to go away forever but the days passed and then weeks passed and there was always something else needing to be done…And I started to think how easy it would be to become that person…
Luckily, I had already said I would be posting the June Wool on Sundays today so I had to come back and be reminded how much I love my little corner of the web here :)

I totally understand! Blogging is fun, but there are so many other things outside to do! And gardening is so good and relaxing too. Lovely pictures, great garden! Beautiful picture of your cat :-)

Your crochet blanket looks gorgeous, I don’t envy you, stitching the ends in! I know what it’s like …. I have a granny square blanket I made … ohhhhh …. so long ago, but I still remember stitching in all the ends!
Loved the photos of your plants ….. looks like a lot of gardening! At least the rain will have watered in the new ones now! Looks like Fiona has “taken” well too!
Btw, have I said, I love your blog name …. so distinctive!
I know what you mean about wanting to post ….. everything just gets in the way!

The garden and blanket pictures are lovely … but kitty is the star of the show, hehe. Our garden has just gone in – we were away during the official planting weekend, and got some of it done the next week, but it hasn’t been all that warm so it just didn’t seem to be all that urgent :D Of course we’ve had so much rain that poor hubby has had to cut the grass every couple of days :D Yesterday he went into the vegetable garden to put in some cucumber plants, and noticed that some of the plants had been trampled, and there were footsteps going through it. It seems that the neighbours beside us found a teenager in their back yard in the middle of the night – when they turned on a light to see what was going on, the kid hopped our shared fence and ran through our garden to escape!

Good morning! Sadly I have no crochet to show in a link. I actually moved my UFO temp afghan to the back room to be completed at a later date. Your garden is lovely. I always wanted my garden to be full like that!! I was interested on your commentary on “abandoned blogs” and will be posting about just that subject sometime soon. In the meantime..enjoy the weather. I have to grab a day outside while I can around here!

I know exactly where you’re coming from. I’ve had little free time to craft recently, and those things I have made haven’t been blogged simply because I keep forgetting!
You’re going to regret leaving those ends… I always say I’ll weave in as I go, and never do, and regret it!

Accidentally becoming a full time gardener – yes, lately I have been feeling the same way too. If I had a garden like yours, I wouldn’t be coming inside either. I would keep on taking allergy medicine so I could sit outside with a book. It’s enchanting, Janine. Although I completely understand needing a break from blogland, I am glad to have you back. Potted Fiona found a very pretty pot for herself :)

Well I totally understand getting busy – that’s whats been happening in my little block of the world too and only just getting a chance to drop in a few blogs – I’m sorry I missed the yarn on Sunday, but hopefully I’ll make the next one – although prob a few days late as we will be travelling back from holidays then. Love how your blanket is coming along – maybe you can crochet over all those ends when you do your border??

Isn’t it hard to blog sometimes… When I had started my blog many years ago, I would think about it endlessly. Now, not so much lol I still love it though– I too have seen wonderful blogs abandoned and have always wondered why they ended, some abruptly. Sad. I hope you continue to blog :-)
