As you can see from the top photo, Mrs Hare is kindly modelling the sewn together Autumnal Lap Blanket. But I’m afraid there is going to be no Ta-Dah today, the reason being I have run out of the border colour. This, I know, could happen to anyone but I only bought that colour to finish the border of the Rustic Lace blanket (below)…and to have it happen to two projects in succession seems a little careless. Now I have two WIPs needing bordering and many, many trials with other shades has convinced me that no colour except Drops Karisma in Green Mix will do. I must sell more sewing patterns and buy more wool – but only Green Mix.
In the meantime, I have started something in the oatmeal colour I had originally intended to use to border the lap blanket. Can you guess what they are?
As a clue, it will not be another blanket and I should have a Ta-Dah on these next Sunday. I’m feeling that a wool Ta-Dah is growing over due :(

I must admit that I have no clue on what you are stitching with that Oatmeal yarn. I should be dragging my yarn out within a few weeks as the weather is turning colder. We usually have our first sign of snow during the first week of November. But thankfully, I have not had to turn on the heat yet, except to take off the morning chill.

I have no idea what the little oatmeal coloured bits and pieces will become, but I do know the pain of running out of a specific colour of (for me it would be fabric), usually near the end of a project. Sucks, but it happens to all of us! Sometimes we can get the exact item we need – other times we have to think outside of the box to get ‘r done :D
Our heat went on a few days ago here — I came downstairs on the weekend and thought it was chilly in the house – it was 65F (18C) and hubby told me that it was too early in the season to turn the furnace on. As it turns out – he was incorrect, as it was exactly the right time in the season to turn it on … HA! :D

Mrs Hare looks ever so comfy under your lovely blanket. I don’t suppose she cares a fig that there is no border. =) Are those little oatmeal pieces perchance….flower petals?? Here’s hoping you sell a motza so that you can acquire some more yarn to finish your lovely blanket.

Oh I hate it when I run out of yarn!! I must say Mrs. Hare is looking very comfy under that warm blanket and I don’t think she cares that it is without a border. Hmm..I think I will just have to wait to see what you make with those oatmeal-coloured pieces :)

Knitting is one of those things I don’t really do (well I can knit like a 6 year old, but that’s not very impressive once you’re over 50) but I really love knitted blankets – yours makes me think (again) that I should get on and learn to do it properly.
