Welcome to Wool on Sundays and thank you to everyone who has been kind enough to leave such encouraging words whilst my Ripple Blanket has been in progress :)

Whilst I was making it, I intended to have the stripes running widthways across the bed. The foot of the bed (below) precludes having blankets hanging over the end and I thought it was unnecessary to have it reaching higher than the pillows but when I eventually came to try it on the bed I found it touched the floor on each side so it is actually bigger than required. Having come so far, though, frogging was not an option so lengthwise it is!

The blanket is made from machine washable wool. I used Drops Karisma with the exception of the bright yellow, bright green, aqua and the darkest pink, which I added to get a more cheerful colour balance and a 4mm crochet hook. It has turned out to be quite heavy and thick and I’m confident it will be very warm and long lasting.

I used the Attic 24 Ripple Blanket Pattern/Tute, which is very clear and easy to follow and I would recommend it even if you are a crochet beginner.

Because it’s so big, it was hard to take good photos but, hopefully, these give an impression. I’m very happy to say it’s nicer in real life.

Have you had time for any yarn making this week?

If so, I’d love you to link up. The rules, as usual, are: 1). Posts must include some content – makes or musings or photos – related to knitting, crochet, felting, spinning or yarn. 2). Projects sewn from felt or wool fabric or stitchery using wool are also welcome but please don’t link posts that are exclusively about sewing, quilting and fabrics. 3). Posts don’t have to be from the past week but please put a link to WOOL ON SUNDAYS or grab the button from my sidebar and include it in or at the bottom of any posts you link up. 4). MOST IMPORTANT visit anyone else who links.
