On Saturday it was my Mum’s birthday. My Mum used to be tailor but she prefers painting to sewing these days and she has always said that she likes my vintage caravan sewing machine cover but she doesn’t keep her machine on display so she wouldn’t have a use for one.
She is not an easy person to find gifts for and I wasn’t 100% sure if she was tactfully saying she didn’t like caravans…
But I thought I’d make her a peg bag and, fortunately, she loved it :)
Now I’m in the process of making a couple more, which may fly into my etsy shop or I might gift them at Christmas. I have adjusted the shape a little to get more rounded ends (and unintentionally fallen into a rather limited colour palette!). Either way, there will be a pattern coming soon, in case anyone else should like to make one.
My other sewing related news is that I’ve had a project featured in this magazine…
My sewing posts have become so few and far between that it’s not technically news but it is something I haven’t blogged about. A lady called Susan emailed me and asked if she could include it back in May and after a while I’d assumed she had decided against it but then a couple of weeks ago I received a copy in the mail. The magazine is packed full of lovely projects and I feel very honoured to have my Old Man and the Sea quilt included.
Happy Sewing!

Love the peg bag, and congrats on being published! (I reckon the caravan would make a good basket too ( for toys or knitting) it would need stabilising to make it stand up, but would look cool!

Your peg bag looks great and I'm sure your mother will be delighted with it as she gets to look at and use it every day. I have been in need of a peg bag and have been thinking of crocheting one. Although it won't be as pretty as yours.
