Wool on Sundays – 84 (Organising)

Welcome to Wool on Sundays!

Are you well organised? For several months now, I’ve been planning a Makery party but every time I’m on the verge of sharing photos the whole place descends into chaos. Some of this, I put down to poor storage…but this week we have been re-arranging the furniture around the house and now (if I can keep it up) I have enough drawer and cupboard space to be able to find what I’m looking for without having to empty everything out all the time.

My actual yarn making, this week has been minimal (though, for the record, I have sewn!). I have started another cushion but that’s just a length of cream stocking stitch so far and I have crocheted some lengths of chain to hang pictures…

…and a small flower. My daughter sent me a link to some seriously amazing crochet tutorials. Below is my attempt at at an easy crochet flower button, but it really doesn’t do any justice to to to amazing creations you can make if you visit this site, including Crochet Soda Tab Flowers, Crochet Triple Layer Flowers and Pretty Panama Hats to Crochet For Your Little Girl. Even if you don’t crochet, I’d recommend clicking on the links for the gorgeous photos :)

If you have a recent yarn post, I’d love you to link up. The rules as usual are: 1). Posts must include some content – makes or musings or photos – related to knitting, crochet, felting, spinning or yarn. 2). Projects sewn from felt or wool fabric or stitchery using wool are also welcome but please don’t link posts that are exclusively about sewing, quilting and fabrics. 3). Posts don’t have to be from the past week but please put a link to WOOL ON SUNDAYS or grab the button from my sidebar and include it in or at the bottom of any posts you link up. 4). Visit anyone else who links. Wishing you a happy week :)

I'm salivating at those little peeks into your Makery, Janine. Those drawers are filled with gorgeous woolly colour. I too function better with an organised sewing room; it's wonderful to know where everything is 'hiding'. I am off to investigate those crochet tutorials….love your crochet flower button!

I'm medium organized. I have lots of fabric and sewing/crafting notions, and I even have a huge area to call my own for sewing and crafting, but it's an unfinished basement, and quite dreary – not very inspiring.

LOVE your crockery needle/supply holders – what a beautiful way to display the supplies you use the most :D I'd love to have a drawer full of yarn even though I don't knit or crochet – I'd probably just leave the drawer open because it looks pretty (and I bet it inspires you when you open it!). Pretty button flower – I've seen buttons added to the center of crochet flowers, but never AS the center of the flowers – it's a nice embellishment!
