Welcome to Wool on Sundays again!
June was such a dire month that I starting to think I’d never manage another Wool on Sundays post.
It began with a day at the side of the motorway, when Mr RH filled our diesel car with petrol…
And ended with me dropping a cup of tea on my laptop, though fortunately, so far as it’s possible to tell, it has been saved after about a week of ‘drying out’.
In between we had days and days of long distance driving and all of our chickens and ducks were killed by a stoat or weasel. On the first day it killed five chicken, a drake and a sweet white duck, who had been sitting for ages on her eggs, during the day. The next day it killed one chicken. Then, on the third day, it managed even to get into a very solid locked chicken house and kill the rest during the night. The only gaps are literally about 1″ x 2 1/2″, where the apex of the roof joins the top of the front and back and some 1/2″ wide air vents…apparently they can fit through even a mouse hole :(
And on the fourth day our goose, who was in another run by himself vanished, which I assume was also weasel related. The run is a good six feet high and very secure and he’s never been known to fly before but there were no scattered feathers and there’s been no sight or sound of him in the neighbourhood since, dead or alive! I hope he’s managed to find a pond or river somewhere…
In between all this, I’ve been trying to re-photograph the long, long caravan tutorial to go in a Craftsy Kit with RJR fabrics. It’s a very exciting opportunity, which has been at the top of my PDQ list all month and only needed a couple of solid uninterrupted days but with doing a little here and a little there it is taking forever! I’m hoping to finish it today or on Tuesday and I will post more about that soon…
Yarnwise, I’ve started a new in car crochet project. So far there isn’t much to show but my (longterm) plan is to make a bed-sized blanket like this gorgeous creation at The Coco Rose Diaries. It may take some time :)
I hope you are having a lovely Summer and enjoying the amazing weather we’ve having (or having a good Winter if you are on the other side of the world).
If you are working on any yarn projects, I’d love you to link up with WOOL ON SUNDAYS. The rules as usual are: 1). Posts must include some content – makes or musings or photos – related to knitting, crochet, felting, spinning or yarn. 2). Projects sewn from felt or wool fabric or stitchery using wool are also welcome but please don’t link posts that are exclusively about sewing, quilting and fabrics. 3). Posts don’t have to be from the past week but please put a link to WOOL ON SUNDAYS or grab the button from my sidebar and include it in or at the bottom of any posts you link up. 4). Visit anyone else who links. Wishing you a happy week :)

Gosh Janine life has been pretty dramatic in your neck of the woods, hope your goose is enjoying his bid for freedom and not the grisly alternative!
