Wool on Sundays – 37 (stats on the Icelandic Cardigan)

Welcome to Wool on Sundays 37! Thank you to everyone who came to link up or visit last Sunday and to everyone who sent well wishes to my daughter. I’m very pleased to say she seems to be getting better now :)

This week I’ve been ‘talking’ to Sarah, who you probably know from her shop,  Issabellathecat.etsy.com and her lovely blog, Issabellathecat.blogspot.com. We were wondering about linking up from IG and Sarah found out that if everyone hashtags their Instagram images with #WoolonSundays it will show in any IG searches, but to add the “post” to the linky party you need to copy and paste the photo’s url (just like we would on Flickr) rather than our blog post url and then everyone can see it linked up :) So if you’d like to link up from IG, you are very welcome :)

When I finished my coloured yoke cardigan (Wool on Sundays – 32), my camera was being repaired so I couldn’t take proper photos and neither have I given proper credits for this. Now I have the camera back so I thought I’d give the stats. I used a chart from a free Lopi Pattern. It is called the 20th Anniversary sweater and is available in English and French.

I was keen to use yarn from stash and I didn’t have the right weight yarn so I adapted this Garn Studio Pattern but used the Lopi chart.

I used 4mm needles, the grey, blue and charcoal wools are Drops Karisma (dk weight) and for the other colours I used two stands of Drops Fabel (4ply weight), which I had left over from my miniature knits for the Granny Square, Knit and Purl characters. Two strands of 4ply should equal one strand of aran weight so that really shouldn’t have worked and I expected the tension might all go horribly wrong and that I’d have to frog the whole yoke.

But I’m very happy to report that it all worked together very evenly. I didn’t, however, make much of a dent in the 4ply so you’ll be seeing these colours again…
