Welcome to Wool on Sundays 36 and huge apologies to anyone who came to link up last Sunday or earlier today. My blog has, sadly, fallen by the wayside recently, although I do have a new project started.

My younger daughter had her tonsils out recently and, although, the operation seems to have gone well, for various reasons involving allergic reactions and painkillers not working I’ve been spending a lot of time with her in the A + E department. So I’m making a cardigan, which looks like this on one side…
The right side is yet to be decided. I don’t know what the stitch is called but I’m working odd rows in k1,p1 rib and even rows in k only. It gives a warm, thick texture and is simple enough to do when you’re very tired and a bit more interesting than stocking stitch! When I thought the body may be long enough, I didn’t have a tape measure so I’ve started a sleeve with the other end of the yarn pulled from the centre. I hope it doesn’t end up in a big knot…
On a happier note the menagerie is slowly settling, touch wood.

It's like moss stitch, but with a row of knit in between, maybe that's what it's called!! Gorgeous bunnies, thanks for the photo! They are both beautiful, I hope they're getting on well together.

It is called sand stitch I think (looks like the stitch I used for baby MiH's cardigan http://made-inhome.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/flight-o2c8r-01-le-challenge-2.html) – and I was confused which side should be the right side for the whole knit! Hope there will be less trips to A+E!

My elder daughter had her tonsils out when she was 5. I made her eat normal food when she was discharged but she still developed an infection and bled too. Back to hospital we went and she had to have antibiotics and a small op too. Horrendous for a small child. I hope your daughter is recovering now. They are so resilient. I'm finally doing some crochet and starting to think about knitting now the Autumn is arriving. Summer was too hot and too busy.

I hope your daughter is better soon! Lovely sweater – is it grey? On both photos I see a glimmer of pink in the middle, but I think it might be a reflection from the Pinterest button (which makes no sense at all, haha) as it mainly looks like a soft, pretty grey! Cute furbabies – kitty looks like my very first kitty so many years ago (45ish!) – his name was Inky :)

I am sorry to hear about your daughter, I hope she is starting to feel better already. You do have a full house with the critters, good to see them settling down. Glad that you are finding some time to knit, it is very relaxing. The cardigan looks very cosy already :)
