Fractured Colours Cushion

It’s Friday and, for once in a long long, time, I have a proper sewing/quilty kind of finish!
A little while ago, I was lucky enough to win a gorgeous AMH charm pack from AMY at CLOUD COU COU. I cut into it straight away and paired it up with some Collage and some PBJ Layer Cake squares (by Basic Grey for Moda) with the idea of making a kaleidoscope cushion but, what with my recent crochet obsession and the curious caravan business, I haven’t had time to get back to it, Today, on a sudden impulse, I decided to sew it up into something more modern – the Fractured Colours Cushion. I don’t really do wonky so this is far outside my comfort zone and I’m still not 100% certain whether I love it or whether I should be writing to Amy to apologise for wasting the charm squares! Certainly the grey in the bottom left hand corner, which blends so readily into the newsprint, wasn’t the greatest design choice but, overall, I think it is sort of interesting…

What a gorgeous cushion! I love the printed fabric you used and those colours are great! I typically waste more fabric than I should too, there should be a support group or something :)

Such a gorgeous cushion Janine, it's lovely to see what you've done with the squares. Don't worry about wasting fabric I'll let you off! BTW it's Cloud Coucou Amy not Crafty Shenanigans..ha ha!!

Oh that's a GREAT kaleidoscope! Love the newsprint background (it has way more attitude than a plain background :D) and the fun colours – I think it's great! Overall I'd say it's not just interesting – it's a win :)

Overall it looks fantastic. I too struggle a little bit with wonky too but I honestly think this looks great. Maybe because it's small and not wonky ness on a big quilt? Your pillow is very playful and the colors and background totally works. Don't second guess your decision :)
