A Holiday Memory Mini Quilt

It’s cold and dark and raining and I’ve realised I won’t be here during daylight hours until it’s too late to link up with the exciting Holiday Memories Mini Quilt Competition over at Celtic Thistle Stitches so, despite my plans to show sunny garden photos of this mini quilt (18″ diameter), I’ve ended up taking indoor night time pictures. But perhaps that’s what holiday memories are for – to brighten these dreary, dark evenings!

In this wall hanging I have tried to capture my holiday memory of the Bournemouth Air Show, 2013 (blogged here), but I’ve tried to create a perspective from the air. Here are some photos that I took.

If you google images for the Bournemouth Air Show, 2013,

you can see better photos, including the red arrows that were too fast for me to catch!
This quilt was a challenge, especially the plane – you can see my first attempt here – but it’s always good to try something new!
If you haven’t already entered, be sure to link up tomorrow :)

I love those little yachts and the strings on the parachute the bestest. The colours are lovely too, I'd have ever thought to put peach with lime green but it totally works!

What a great quilt! I love the shape, use of colors and quilting, and the little planes, boats and people are so fun! Really neat piece to look at :-)
