An update

After everyone’s wonderful suggestions about what I could do for a week without blogland or a sewing machine I found this pattern on shapes that tesselate and I made a start on my first ever EPP… I could imagine a whole quilt like this but, although, I love the pattern and fabrics I think this is destined only to be a cushion – and even that may take some time! Now I’m even more in awe of the patience of all you hexie addicts!

I also became very enthusiastic about felt. I have no finishes or pictures yet but I see more felt projects in my future…

I do have some pictures of a little finish before I left though, which is now somewhere between here and the USA. This was my addition to Elizabeth’s quilt top in the ‘Free Two Bee’ bee.

These ‘Free Two Bee’ tops get more amazing with every round and I always feel really nervous about ruining them. This is what Elizabeth’s looks like now.

In the process I made some flower stems I really didn’t like (although the colour is very off here making it look even worse!) so I made them into a block, which I’m thinking of turning into something for Le Challenge with Lucy and Nat…Would you call this geometric?

I’m glad to be back and I’m really looking forward to catching up with all things quilty again!

Happy Sewing :)

Coming over from New to me! Your EPP looks very good! I tried it once but I think I am too impatient to keep it up. I'd much rather sew on my machine. That Free Two Bee quilt top is truely gorgeous. Looks like an awesome bee!

I love the colour choices for your EPP. I've only recently progressed from Hexies to triangles – yours looks great with all the different shapes. The beach hut top looks terrific, when do you get your sewing machine back? Have you seen it recently?

Hi Janine! You epp looks beautiful! Cushion is great but you might get hooked as I did! The 'landscape' quilt is going to be fantastic and I do love your flowers! Such a great idea to make sweet flowers! x Teje

Oh wow – I love that link to the shapes that tesselate – pinned and will be great reference for when I have to choose a block for my EPP bee! You have been busy Janine and your EPP will make a perfect cushion :)

Those flowers are megacute! BTW I owe you a magazine, I've just got to remember which safe place I put it in and it will be in my next trip to the post office.
