End of Summer Sewing

It’s taken a couple of weeks since I pieced this (blogged here) but I finally have a Friday Finish! These ‘Really Biased Butterfly’ blocks were inspired by Amy at Badskirt and Lori at Bee in My Bonnet who have both made some fab butterflies lately. I was thinking of making them into a large floor cushion but one of my daughters wanted it as a wall hanging in her room at uni – so a wall hanging it is!

Every year a slow line of steam rollers pass our house, marking the end of Summer and I seem to have been making slow progress too. I also seem to have moved into mid-volume, end-of-summer colours. My other finishes, apart from some bee blocks, within the past month have been the Dresden cushion, which I finished binding soon after this post but I never got around to taking a photo…

…and two pin cushions. This one, from modern scraps, is more vintagy than my usual style…

…and this one is made from an actual vintage table cloth which, unfortunately had impossible-to-get-out stains. Now I need to think about what to make with the rest of it.

Love the wall hanging and that dresden pillow is so pretty!!! Those pin cushion are super cute too especially the one made from the vintage table cloth – just gorgeous. Maybe you could make a matching sewing pouch to go with it?
