So Thank You Jenna Monday!

I’m sorry if you got fed up of seeing my flag quilt last week. I’m linking up with it because It’s my only finish in ages and I have some fab news that I really wanted to share on Jenna’s blog first…

Quilt stats:

74″ x 94″.
Front – Klona cotton.
Binding – the same royal blue as I used in the flag.
Baxking – stripy sheet from La Redoute
Quilted in white in straight lines 1″ apart.

And my news is this. Last month I was incredibly lucky enough to win the Play Mini Quilt :Best in Show – Fat Quarter Shop – $75 gift certificate Judged by: Melissa of SewBitterSweet Designs
for my Ten of Diamonds Kite Mini Quilt. I had been planning to make my next quilt for one of my daughters so I waited for her to come home so we could choose fabric together. We spent hours pouring over the amazing selection at the Fat Quarter Shop and, eventually decided to buy 14 1/2 yards of Trade Winds by Lily Ashbury for Moda and a dresden ruler.

I had never shopped at Fat Quarter Shop before but the service was fab and my parcel arrived very quickly. I’ll definitely be visiting again.

And here are my fabrics. I was hoping to lay them outside for a wonderful summery picture but, or course, we are having the torrential downpour we’ve grown accustomed to here in the UK this Summer! Even the dark-inside-the-house photos can’t hide their loveliness though. These fabrics are fabulous!

So THANK YOU, THANK YOU THANK YOU Jenna, Melissa and Fat Quarter Shop

Wow! Your flag quilt is awesome. I'm afraid if I made a U.S. flag it would come off as way less cool and way more ” 'Merica!” which isn't really what I want. :) Yours is fantastic, and it looks perfect on that couch.
