a joke of sorts

13″ x 19″
Thank you to everyone who left a comment on my last post Please Pick a Card! Having got nothing much done over the weekend (luckily I was home all day today), I decided I’d better go for the 10 of Diamonds Kite, rather than the Joker because it was simpler and I was running out time. And I was glad I did. I have a tendency to bizarrely underestimate how long it takes to sew something. I sewed like a maniac all day – feeling certain something was going to go wrong at every stage – and eventually I finished at 4.00pm.
But it turned out the joke was on me! I went to the the Flickr group to link up and I saw a post I’d missed saying the  PLAY Mini Quilt Competition with Jenna at Sew Happy Geek is going to be extended for another a week!
So now I have a dilema. I could make the Joker after all…
But I think I’ll stick with the hand I’ve got :)
The good news is that if you haven’t entered yet, there’s still time to make a mini quilt and have a chance to win some fab prizes. You can check out the details here.

SewHappyGeek Play ButtonEven more good news is that Plum and June are going to be hosting The Let’s Get Acquainted! Blog Hop.

Plum and June

There will be details and updates on Mondays at PlumandJune.blogspot.com – every Monday throughout the Hop starting today. And we’ll be hopping to 4 blogs a week (2 on Tuesdays and 2 on Thursdays) – starting tomorrow with Kelsey from Kelsey Sews and

Erin from Billy Button Designs

What a wonderfully serendipitous quilt. It is just so sweet. I looked at your 3 candidates. I think the joker is cool, especially with the two figures aspect. But I think the 10 Diamonds is my favorite!
